Mantle Clock

PROJECT: To reproduce, with variation, a mantle clock design by a clock supply company 15 years ago. Started at that time, set aside and forgotten until recently, "discovered" in my shop and finished for my daughter as a 2013 Christmas gift.
MATERIAL: Red Oak with quartz chiming pendulum movement
FINISH: Gloss, then satin, brush-on and wipe-on polyurethane.
SIZE: Approximately 18" x 10" x 6"
YEAR: 2013


Mantle Clock

DESIGN: Various, based on traditional bracket clock design.
MATERIAL: Various, mahogany, tiger maple, cherry, walnut. Seiko quartz chiming movements.
FINISH: Various, oil & varnish, lacquer.
SIZE: Approximately 10 inches wide, 13 inches tall, 5 inches deep.
YEAR: 2002

Clock Cabinet

Purpose: A made-to-order clock cabinet
Materials/Techniques: Material used can be changed, based on need and final use. This one includes a drawer  on the bottom, a door, and four open shelves.
Finish: May be finished for paint or stain. The example on the left is unfinished. The example on the right has been imaginatively finished by Monroe artist Diane Webb. (Note the "CAT" on the second shelf.)
